The police have registered a case against the woman and Meherban Singh under sections of attempt to kidnap and religious feelings hurt by her turban in the beating.
In the case of an eight-year-old girl kidnapped in Jalandhar, there was a fierce clash between two families in Jaimal Nagar, Jalandhar. The turbans also came off in it. When the information about the scuffle that took place in the middle of the road reached the police, both the parties were caught and taken to the police station. After this, the girl, who had created a hue and cry over the kidnapping, was recovered and handed over to the family members.
The incident happened on Sunday afternoon. Manjit Singh, a resident of Jaimal Nagar, had gone to see his forehead at Gurdwara Sahib with his eight-year-old niece Seerat and father. During this, Seerat came out of the gurudwara and went to the house but did not reach home for a long time. When Manjit Singh reached home, he came to know that Seerat had not reached home, due to which there was panic among the family members.
Immediately the family started looking for him. When nothing was found, the family members reached the Gurughar. After the incident, the police and family members were surprised to see the footage of the CCTV camera installed in the Gurdwara Sahib. Meherban Singh’s wife, who lives in the neighborhood, was seen taking Seerat. After seeing the footage, Seerat’s father-in-law and other relatives reached Meherban Singh’s house and saw that the woman was present there.
When Seerat’s family members asked the woman, a fight broke out between the two sides and a scuffle ensued. During this, the turban of Manjit Singh’s elder brother came off. The police was informed about the turban coming off in the fight. When the police called the woman to the police station and asked her to hand over Seerat to the family members, she turned back. After this the police raided Meherban Singh’s house and found Seerat and handed it over to the family members.
