Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that I know where the loan money is lying? He said that this money has to be recovered. After all, this money belongs to the people of the state. We cannot leave it saying that whatever happened, it happened.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made it clear that a detailed inquiry will be conducted into the Rs 3 lakh crore debt owed to the state and where the previous governments spent the money. What development works were done with the loan money, it will be fully accounted for and recovery will also be done after investigation.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced a probe on Monday. The amount and interest that is being paid for the repayment of loans taken by the previous governments is the money of the people of Punjab. In such a situation, it is necessary for the public to know that what works were done by the governments in the interest of the state and the public by taking loans.
It is noteworthy that for the last 70 years, only Congress and Akali Dal-led governments have been in Punjab. Punjab currently has a debt of about Rs 3 lakh crore. In lieu of its interest, the government has to pay a huge amount every month. The Chief Minister said that every time the question is raised that Punjab has a debt of Rs 3 lakh crore and how will the Aam Aadmi Party government fulfill the promises made to the people.
He said that it is astonishing that no new hospital, no government school-college nor any government university was built in Punjab for the last many years. The government universities which are already running in the state are also in loss. Highways being built across the state are being built by private companies, so where did the loan money go?

The Chief Minister said that I know where the loan money is lying? He said that this money has to be recovered. After all, this money belongs to the people of the state. We cannot leave it saying that whatever happened, it happened. It is worth mentioning that Bhagwant Mann on Saturday, while announcing 300 units of free electricity per month in Punjab, had also raised the issue of debt on the state. At that time also he had talked about recovery of loan money.
