Punjab Police has solved the grenade attack in CIA office Nawanshahr in 2021.

Punjab Police busted Pakistan based terror gang and succeeded in arresting three operatives. The gang is being run by Harvinder Singh alias Rinda. The police have also solved the mystery behind the hand grenade attack on the CIA office in Nawanshahr. Punjab DGP VK Bhavra gave this information on Monday.

It may be mentioned that on the intervening night of November 7 and 8, 2021, some unidentified persons hurled a hand grenade at the CIA office in Nawanshahr with the intention of killing the police personnel. In this attack, the policemen present in the CIA office had narrowly survived. The persons arrested on Monday have been identified as Manish Kumar alias Mani alias Baba, resident of Bains village in Nawanshahr, Ramandeep Singh alias Jakkhu, resident of village Atta in district Jalandhar, and Pradeep Singh alias Bhatti, resident of Sahalon village in SBS Nagar.

Police also recovered a hand grenade from their possession. DGP VK Bhavra said that after extensive and continuous investigation, the Counter Intelligence Wing and SBS Nagar Police have arrested three accused involved in the attack. During interrogation, Ramandeep confessed that he, along with Manish, had hurled the hand grenade at the Nawanshahr CIA office on the instructions of Harvinder Singh alias Rinda, while on the behest of Rinda, Ramandeep received two hand grenades from a hideout between the Ludhiana-Firozpur road. were.
SBS Nagar SSP Sandeep Kumar said that according to Ramandeep’s disclosure, a hand grenade was used to carry out the attack in Nawanshahr while another P-80 hand grenade was recovered. Harvinder alias Rinda had made a deal with Ramandeep for four lakh rupees to carry out this attack.

It is noteworthy that gangster Harvinder Singh alias Rinda, operating in Punjab, Chandigarh, Maharashtra and Haryana, is a history-sheeter and is wanted in crimes like murder, contract killing, dacoity, ransom and snatching. Police has also made Rinda an accused in this case and sections 13/16/17/18/18-B/20 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act have been included in the FIR dated November 8, 2021. Earlier this case has been registered under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of Explosive Substances Act and Sections 307, 427 and 120-B of IPC at Police Station Nawanshahr.
