In view of the increase in the cases of corona in various states and some union territories of the country, the Punjab government has again implemented the precautionary measures in the state. Under this, wearing masks in public places has been made mandatory again.
In a letter issued by the State Home Affairs and Justice Department to all the District Deputy Commissioners and Divisional Commissioners on Thursday, it has been instructed to make wearing of masks mandatory in the congested areas of the state. Along with this, instructions have been given to wear masks in public transport services-bus, train, aircraft etc. and in cinema halls, shopping malls, schools, colleges and government and non-government offices.
In the last few days, corona infection has started increasing again in the state. In two days, the infection has been confirmed in 50 new patients. 15 new active cases have been found in 24 hours, after which their number has increased to 90. The infection rate is also increasing continuously. The infection rate has been recorded at 0.33 percent on Tuesday. According to the Punjab Health Department, 21 new cases of corona have been found on Tuesday, while 29 new patients were found on Monday. On Wednesday, a total of 30 positive cases were reported.
On Tuesday, 8 new patients were found in Ludhiana, 5 in Jalandhar, 3 in Mohali, 2 in Pathankot and 1 each in three other districts. The good thing is that no patient has been found in a serious condition in the last 24 hours. 4 infected are having trouble breathing, who have been kept on oxygen support. So far 17,743 infected people have died in the state.
