Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Red Fort on the occasion of the 400th Prakash Parv of Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur and mentioned the sacrifice of the Guru. He told that in those days, Guru Tegh Bahadur had stood like a rock in front of Aurangzeb and did not deviate from his faith. He said that the country is today walking on the ideals of these gurus. The Prime Minister also released a special coin and postage stamp on the occasion.
During this, read what PM Modi said in his address-
- It is difficult to put into words the feeling of today. Today our country is running on the ideals of our Gurus. Hearty greetings to all of you countrymen on the occasion of Prakash Parv. This Red Fort has witnessed the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur. This event being held at Red Fort has become very special.
- Today we are here because of the sacrifice of the freedom fighters. India is a country giving the message of charity to the world. This land is not just one country. It has been watered by our sages. Independence and India’s spirituality cannot be seen in isolation from hundreds of years of slavery.
- At that time there was a storm of religious fanaticism in the country. Violence culminated. At that time, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji came forward to save India’s identity. The tyrants became a sheet of Hind in front of Aurangzeb and stood like a rock. Guru Tegh Bahadur had made sacrifices to protect the culture. Aurangzeb may have severed many heads from the torso, but could not separate our faith from us. Great power has disappeared, but India still stands immortal. India is moving forward. Today once again the world is looking towards India. Hoping to guide the path of humanity. Guru Nanak ji united the whole country in one thread. I consider my government fortunate that it is getting so many opportunities to serve the Gurus.
- The Citizenship Amendment Act has given citizenship of India to minorities coming from neighboring countries. This has been possible because our Gurus have taught us to move forward on the path of humanity. India has never posed a threat to any society or country. If we talk about self-reliant India, then we keep the goal of progress of the whole world in front. With wishes of health and charity for the whole world.
Red Fort was chosen because
Officials of the Ministry of Culture said that the Red Fort has been chosen as the venue because it was here in 1675 that the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb ordered the execution of the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Tegh Bahadur. Earlier, for the first time, the Red Fort of Delhi was illuminated on the occasion of Prakash Parv. Everyone present here on Wednesday evening was getting attracted to see the laser light show. People also had darshan of the ninth Guru of Sikhs, Tegh Bahadur ji, through the light. Along with this, the beauty of the Red Fort was attracting people through different colors.
