The ADGP (Traffic) has issued instructions to the SSPs of all the districts that jugaad vehicles should not be allowed to ply on the roads. The Punjab Health Department on Saturday issued an advisory banning the use of plastic water bottles in official functions of the department as well as banning the distribution of flower bouquets during the functions.

Jugaad vehicles have been banned in Punjab. The police administration on Saturday directed the traffic wing in all the districts to seize the jugaad vehicles if they hit the roads. Along with this, the Health Department has issued instructions to ban the use of plastic water bottles in government functions in view of environmental protection. Along with this, there has also been a ban on giving bouquets or bouquets to the minister during the functions. It is noteworthy that Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit has already banned those visiting the Punjab Raj Bhavan from presenting bouquets to him.

It is worth noting that the Jugaad vehicles made using the engine of old two wheelers neither have any registration, nor do they have any number plate. Such jugaad vehicles are used for carrying goods, whose drivers do not even have a driving license. These vehicles have been causing major accidents on the roads. It is difficult for the police to take action against such jugaad vehicles even in the event of an accident, as these vehicles do not have any record in the RLA of the area concerned. After reviewing the jugaad vehicles plying on the state roads, the state police has decided to ban these vehicles.

The ADGP (Traffic) has issued instructions to the SSPs of all the districts that jugaad vehicles should not be allowed to ply on the roads. Such vehicles should be immediately confiscated. It has been seen in the instructions that after buying old two wheelers from junk, some people are modifying them and giving them the shape of three wheeler rickshaw. They are being used to carry goods, even cement, sand and gravel. In some rural and remote areas, these jugaad vehicles are also being used for carrying passengers.

On the other hand, the Punjab Health Department on Saturday issued an advisory banning the use of plastic water bottles in the official functions of the department, as well as banning the distribution of flower bouquets during the functions. According to the order from the Director Health and Family Welfare Department, water packed in plastic bottles will not be used during official functions of the Health Department.

Apart from this, wherever the Health Minister goes, he will not be presented with bouquets etc. The department has termed this decision as a good initiative for environmental protection. Along with this, all the civil surgeons of Punjab have been asked to make people aware about this. In view of the increasing heat in the state, the department has also issued an advisory for the common people that they should leave the house only when absolutely necessary from 12 noon to 4 pm.
