Kumar Vishwas has filed a petition in the Punjab-Haryana High Court to quash the FIR registered against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the statement case.
Congress leader Alka Lamba will go to Ropar police to appear before the police at 10 am on Wednesday. He will be accompanied by Punjab Congress Committee President Amarinder Singh Raja Wading and Congress Legislature Party leader Pratap Singh Bajwa and other Congress leaders. Raja Vading said that Congress stands in complete solidarity with Lamba, who has been booked by Ropar Police for speaking against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
He revealed that Alka Lamba had reached Punjab only on Tuesday after she was summoned by the Ropar police to appear on Tuesday. Raja Vading further said that apparently to ensure that his instrument of surrender could be affected by Lamba’s presence in Ropar, the Aam Aadmi Party government decided to postpone the summons for a day. He clarified that it is the Ropar police that has suspended the summons, while Lamba has already reached Punjab to present her case.
Kumar Vishwas reached the High Court
Kumar Vishwas has filed a petition in the Punjab-Haryana High Court to quash the FIR registered against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the statement case. Kumar Vishwas told in the petition that an FIR was registered against him in Ropar on 12 April. This FIR has not only been registered in violation of the legal process but it is also a result of political rivalry. This FIR has been made a means to take vengeance on his opponents. Along with these arguments, Kumar Vishwas has demanded from the High Court to quash the FIR.
