In the case registered in the police station Narot Jaimal Singh, it has come to the fore that the accused is a resident of a village near the Indo-Pak border and often used to call on some numbers of Pakistan from his mobile.
Pathankot Police has arrested a person for sending intelligence information to Pakistan. The arrested accused has been identified as Jagdish Singh alias Jagga resident of village Fattochak Narot Jaimal Singh.
In the case registered in the police station Narot Jaimal Singh, it has come to the fore that the accused is a resident of a village near the Indo-Pak border and often used to call on some numbers of Pakistan from his mobile. Apart from this, the said person, along with his other associates, used to share India’s intelligence with people sitting in Pakistan through social media.
The security and integrity of the country was kept at bay by the accused and such information was sent to the enemy country which he could use against India. According to officials, the police had received intelligence about this person, after which he has been arrested. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 3 of Official Secret Act, Section 414 of IPC and Section 25 of Arms Act at police station Narot Jaimal Singh. At present, the accused is being questioned by the police.
Police had launched a search operation on Monday
Earlier on Monday, for the festival of Eid, the Pathankot police conducted a search operation near half a dozen villages and rivers and streams of Bamiyal sector, adjacent to the Indo-Pak border. Scrutiny was done in 7 villages, rivers, streams, forests. Apart from this, vehicles were checked by putting up special checkpoints.
Under the supervision of DSP Special Branch and Rural Jagdish Raj, the banks of the river and the forested and deserted areas were also searched. About 50 police, BSF, SWAT and deadly commandos, including Inspector Kulwant Singh, in-charge of police station Narot Jaimal Singh and in-charge of police post Bamiyal, Tarsem Singh were present. At 6 in the morning, the police and the deadly commando team carried out this operation by forming different teams in 7 villages of the border area.
