According to officials, “DAC has accorded necessary approvals for procurement of Next Generation Corvettes (NGCs) for the Indian Navy at an estimated cost of Rs 36000 crores. These NGCs will be constructed using the latest technology of manufacturing based on the new in-house design of the Indian Navy.

He said that “DAC focused on increasing the special indigenization for manufacturing of Dornier aircraft and Su-30 MKI aero engines by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited”.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense, the DAC also approved the proposal of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to manufacture Dornier aircraft and Sukhoi-30 MKI aero engine with a focus on enhancing indigenization.

The ‘Digital Coast Guard’ project has been approved by the DAC in pursuance of the government’s vision for digital transformation in defence, the ministry said.

Under this project, a pan-India secure network will be established for digitization of various surface and aviation operations, logistics, finance and human resource processes in the Coast Guard.
