Vijay Singla, who was the Health Minister in the present government of Punjab, has filed a petition seeking bail in the matter of taking one percent commission in the tender worth crores.

Two former Punjab ministers surrounded by allegations of corruption have taken refuge in the High Court. Bharat Bhushan Ashu, who was the Food and Supplies Minister in the Congress government, has appealed that the Punjab government should be given 7 days’ notice if any action is to be taken against him. At the same time, Vijay Singla, who was the Health Minister in the Aam Aadmi Party government, which is in judicial custody, has demanded regular bail.

Both the petitions have been filed on Monday. Bharat Bhushan Ashu has said in the petition that the Punjab Food Grains Transportation Policy was brought in 2018-2019 when he was the Food and Supplies Minister. This policy was approved by the cabinet. Tenders were invited through e-tender. The process of tender was completed by DC.

The petitioner said that he had nothing to do with the matter. At the same time, Vijay Singla, who was the Health Minister in the present government of Punjab, has filed a petition seeking bail in the matter of taking one percent commission in the tender worth crores. Earlier, the trial court of Mohali had rejected his petition. Both the petitions are likely to be heard by the High Court this week.
