Moosewala Murder: Punjab Police presented gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in CJM court, got 7 days remand from Mansa court

The Punjab Police had sought transit remand from the court to interrogate gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in the Sidhu Musewala murder case, which was granted by the court.

Punjab Police brought gangster Lawrence Bishnoi from Delhi to Mansa in the early hours. Bishnoi was produced in the CJM’s court in Mansa in the Moosewala murder case. Punjab Police has got seven days remand of Bishnoi from the court. According to the information, he has been taken to Kharar on seven days police remand. Gangster will be interrogated here.

Earlier, the Punjab Police had sought transit remand from the court to interrogate gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in the Sidhu Musewala murder case, which was granted by the court. During the hearing in Patiala House Court, Bishnoi’s lawyers expressed the apprehension of his encounter. On this, the Punjab Police said that they have come with full force and videography of the entire route will be done.

The court has ordered the Punjab Police to produce Bishnoi before the court only after formally arresting him in the case. The court produced the Punjab Police before the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Mansa court on Wednesday. The Punjab Police had said that Moosewala’s murder was the result of an inter-state gang rivalry. Lawrence Bishnoi gang was involved in this. Musewala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29.

Bishnoi is lodged in Tihar Jail in cases registered under MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act) and Arms Act. The Special Cell produced Lawrence in Patiala House Court on Tuesday after the remand period ended. Meanwhile, Punjab Police, engaged in the investigation of Sidhu Musewala murder case, also appeared in Patiala House Court and demanded the arrest and transit remand of Lawrence Bishnoi.

Punjab Police said it wants to interrogate Lawrence in the Sidhu Musewala murder case. The Punjab Police argued that during the investigation of the case, it has been found that Lawrence Bishnoi is the main conspirator in the Sidhu Musewala murder case, hence his interrogation is necessary. Opposing the demand for transit remand, Bishnoi’s lawyer Vishal Chopra said that Bishnoi can be interrogated through video conferencing in this case. Police can arrest Bishnoi in the Sidhu Musewala murder case if needed but he should not be taken out of Delhi. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court has handed over Lawrence Bishnoi to Punjab Police on transit remand in Sidhu Musewala murder case.

A team led by the ADGP (Law and Order), including the Advocate General of Punjab, reached Delhi on Tuesday, where Lawrence Bishnoi was to be produced before the court at the end of the Delhi Police’s remand. As soon as the Delhi Police produced Lawrence Bishnoi in the court, the Punjab Police presented two separate applications in the court to arrest him and take him to Punjab, on which there was a long debate. Bishnoi’s lawyers strongly opposed his handing over to the Punjab Police, saying that there could be an encounter of Bishnoi in Punjab.

On the other hand, Punjab Police said that they have arrived with two bullet proof vehicles, another 20 vehicles and 50 policemen including high police officers. The entire route will be videographed while taking Lawrence to Punjab. On this, Bishnoi’s lawyers told the court that the Punjab Police should interrogate Bishnoi in Delhi after his arrest and if the gangster has to be taken to Punjab, then he should be taken away with handcuffs and shackles, so that in no way the police would make this excuse. Can make out that Laurence Bishnoi had tried to escape. The court, after hearing the counsel of Lawrence Bishnoi and the Punjab Police, ordered Bishnoi to be handed over to the Punjab Police. The transit remand was also granted by the court late in the evening. Lawrence Bishnoi is in the custody of Punjab Police. But till the time of writing the news, the Punjab Police had not left with him.

36 cases are registered against Lawrence in 5 states, 17 in Punjab
A total of 36 cases are registered in Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan against the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is committing murders while sitting in jail. Out of these, maximum 17 cases are pending in various districts of Punjab. In Faridkot district also, two cases are registered against Lawrence Bishnoi and one of them is of Youth Congress District President Gurlal Singh Pehalwan. The wrestler was shot dead by shooters in February 2021. Shortly after the murder, Lawrence and Goldie Brar took responsibility for the murder on social media. However, at that time, Lawrence, who was lodged in Ajmer jail in Rajasthan, was tried by the Faridkot police to bring him on a production warrant. His production warrant was also issued twice but he could not be brought to Faridkot citing security reasons. According to police records, Lawrence Bishnoi has been booked in Faridkot, Muktsar, Fazilka, Mohali, A total of 17 cases are registered in Amritsar and other districts, out of which his arrest has not yet been made in some cases including both the cases of Faridkot. Apart from this, 7 cases are registered against him in Chandigarh, 2 in Haryana, 6 in Rajasthan and 4 in Delhi.
