Amarinder Singh Raja Vading, who was the Transport Minister during the previous Congress government, has been accused of scam of crores for getting the bodies of buses. Responding to this, Raja Vading on Friday said that he is ready for any kind of investigation.
The Shiromani Akali Dal has demanded Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to order a CBI probe into the alleged scam of Rs 60 crore bus purchase and bus body building by former Transport Minister and current Punjab Pradesh Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Vading. In a statement issued on Friday, former minister Sikandar Singh Maluka said that the corrupt activities of Raja Vading have been exposed through an RTI.
Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) was allowed a loss of Rs 4 lakh on bus body building charges of 840 buses, despite the fact that the fleet of new buses was purchased at cost price. Companies offer discounts of up to Rs 4 lakh per bus on large orders of hundreds of vehicles. A scam of about Rs 30 crore was done by Raja Vading on the purchase of 840 buses along with bus body building. An independent and impartial investigation should be handed over to the CBI.
Maluka said that he was sure that the Chief Minister was in favor of zero tolerance towards corruption and would take immediate action in the matter. If he does not do so, his statement of putting the corrupt behind bars will be seen as mere rhetoric.
