- Before appointing two people as his media advisors, Sidhu had announced the appointment of four political advisors for himself. However, former DGP Mohammad Mustafa later refused to act as an advisor.
Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu has increased his enthusiasm in the state unit after Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh got the green signal for cabinet expansion from the high command. To reach out to the people, Sidhu has now appointed two media advisors, while the Captain has only one media advisor.
It is believed that through Twitter, Sidhu is not able to reach the common people as much as he has made captain as the head of the government, so Jagtar Sidhu and Surinder Dalla have been made media advisors. Earlier, while Captain was in Delhi, Sidhu had announced the appointment of four political advisors for himself. However, former DGP Mohammad Mustafa later refused to act as an advisor.
On his return from Captain to Chandigarh, Sidhu called a meeting of Congress MLAs from 13 municipal corporation areas. Through CMO, MLA from Patiala Municipal Corporation area and Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh were also asked to attend the meeting. The captain did not arrive and the meeting called hurriedly without an agenda flopped. After this, Sidhu displayed his strength as the state head by appointing his close Jalandhar MLA Pargat Singh as the general secretary of the party.
