- Three out of four Punjab ministers, who recently demanded the removal of Captain Amarinder Singh, did not attend the cabinet meeting on Thursday. But the stand of Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has softened. On Thursday, he participated in the cabinet meeting and also appreciated the decisions of the Captain government.
There has been no change in the attitude of three ministers – Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and Sukh Sarkaria – of the four ministers who have publicly demanded the removal of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, though one minister Charanjit Singh Channi The trend appeared somewhat soft on Thursday.
He not only participated in the virtual meeting of the Punjab cabinet convened on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister but also appreciated the decisions taken by the Captain Government for loan waiver of SC-ST borrowers and loan waiver of farmers and farm laborers.
Charanjit Channi is currently camping in Delhi with the above three ministers to meet the party’s high command. From there he participated in the cabinet meeting while the other three ministers stayed away from this meeting. The special thing is that according to the roster of ministers prepared by the Chief Minister for duty at Punjab Congress Bhawan at the behest of Punjab Pradesh Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu, on Thursday, Tript Bajwa will be sent from 11 am to 2 pm in Chandigarh. Sitting in the Congress Bhawan, he had to listen to the problems of the party workers and the common people, but instead of reaching the Congress Bhavan, he reached Delhi, where along with the other three ministers, he would complain to the high command about the Captain.
Meanwhile, according to the information received from Delhi, the four ministers are yet to get time to meet the party president. Nevertheless, the new problem before the four ministers is that the high command has already expressed its support for the captain during the last 24 hours and Harish Rawat has also announced as per the wishes of the high command that the next Punjab assembly elections will be under the leadership of Captain.
On Thursday, Rawat has also ordered the immediate removal of the advisors, taking a jibe at the leader of the opposition camp and state head Navjot Sidhu. In this way, the high command is also angry with Navjot Sidhu, and the MLAs are constantly returning to the pro-Captain camp after breaking from the opposition camp. At the same time, the softening of Charanjit Channi’s stand has only increased the concern of the other three ministers.
