AAP leader Sanjay Singh was overshadowed by non-appearance in the Ludhiana court. Taking strong cognizance, the court has issued an arrest warrant against him. In such a situation, now Sanjay Singh himself will have to appear in the court. The court has issued this warrant in a defamation case.
A Ludhiana court has issued an arrest warrant against Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh. This warrant has been issued in the defamation case filed by former minister and senior Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia. An arrest warrant has been issued against Sanjay Singh for not appearing in court.
On Monday, Sanjay Singh was to appear in this case and senior Akali leader Maheshinder Singh Grewal was to be cross-examined. On the non-appearance of Sanjay Singh, the lawyers had given an application that he could not appear. After which the court canceled his bail bond and issued an arrest warrant against him.
Now he will have to appear in court himself or else the police can arrest him anytime. The case against him is going on in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Harsimran Singh. He was not appearing in court for a long time.
It is noteworthy that during the 2017 assembly elections, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh had accused former minister and senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia of involvement in the drug trade and many other types of allegations. After which Bikram Singh Majithia filed a defamation case in the Ludhiana court. Now an arrest warrant has been issued against Sanjay Singh for not appearing in the court.
