The Chandigarh Police has registered three cases of fraud against Gupta Builders and Promoters Private Limited (GBP) Group in the last one and a half months. Surprisingly, the police could not make a single arrest in all three cases. JBP Group is accused of cheating of 1.65 crores by showing the dream of giving a hotel to someone on the lines of Taj’s showroom in Aeropolis City in Mohali. People are now in danger of losing their money due to the escape of the owners of the company.
In the complaint given to the police, Sector-15 resident Anoop Kumar had told that he had met Satish Kumar, Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Anupam Gupta, Satish Kumar Gupta, and others of GBP Group. These people extorted Rs 47.50 lakh on the pretext of getting them the property but they neither got the property nor the money. In this case, Sector-34 police station had registered a case against the said accused on August 31.
At the same time, in the second case, Amit Kapoor, a resident of Sector-34, alleged that the GBP Group had falsely claimed that an Aeropolis city was being built in Sector-66 SAS Nagar, Mohali. In this, the best hotels are being built on the lines of the Taj Hotel. In the name of selling 5 rooms, 47 lakh 57 thousand 457 rupees were taken from them but they were not given any room.
Apart from this, Meesam Zaidi of Sector-42 had alleged that the said group had promised to build a complex in Aeropolis City. In the name of selling the showroom, he was cheated of Rs 70 lakh. On the complaint, two cases are being investigated by the Economic Offenses Wing and one case by the Sector-34 police station. It is claimed that the accused will be arrested soon.
Investors gathered at GBP Group’s office, will meet SSP today
On the other hand, investors gathered outside GBP’s office on Thursday after receiving information about the disappearance of the owners of Gupta Builders and Promoters Private Limited (GBP) Group in Zirakpur. Investors told that group owner Satish Gupta used to ask them to invest money saying that many VIPs have invested crores of rupees in his project.
Investors said that they had invested money only because the GBP project was passed from RERA, but they did not think that their crores of rupees would be drowned overnight. It is being told that people who have invested money in the GBP group have formed a committee of 10 members, which will give a written complaint to SSP Mohali on Friday.
A woman investor told that she had deposited five lakh rupees by working on the boutique. At the same time, after breaking the FD of Rs 5 lakh made for the daughter’s marriage, a total of Rs 10 lakh was invested in GBP Group to get good returns but now he has nothing left. At the same time, an investor Amit Gupta resident Savitri Green told that on August 24 and 25, he had met Raman Gupta, the owner of GBP. During this, he laughed and said that after August 30, everyone will be happy. Amit said that he could not understand this gesture. He was already suspected of the builder’s escape. He had also complained to the Chandigarh Sector-34 police station but the police did not take any action.
