- A major accident took place in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh last night. Here eight people died when a two-story house collapsed after a cylinder blast. Seven people are injured in the incident.
Eight people were killed and seven were injured when two houses collapsed after a cylinder blast in UP’s Gonda last night. The injured have been admitted to the hospital where they are undergoing treatment. The death of seven people was first traced to the hospital and later the body of a boy was recovered from the rubble.
According to the information, the incident is of Tikri village of Wazirganj area in Gonda. The adjoining houses collapsed after the cylinder blast in the night. 14 people were brought to the hospital from the spot where seven were declared brought dead. Later, another body was found from the rubble. The rest are undergoing treatment. The dead included three children, two women, two men, and a boy.
The police reached the spot in the night, along with the relief and rescue team, took out the people trapped under the rubble, and took them to the hospital. According to SP Mishra, a total of 14 people were rescued from under the rubble with the help of local people and taken to the hospital. Relief and rescue operations are also going on. A police team is present at the spot. The forensic team has also reached the spot to investigate the matter.
CM Yogi ordered an inquiry
It has been informed from the official Twitter account of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that he has deeply condoled the death of people in the gas cylinder explosion accident in the Gonda district. Expressing his condolences to the bereaved family members, he has directed the officials to do speedy relief and rescue operations. Instructing to provide proper treatment to the injured, the Chief Minister has also ordered the District Magistrate to investigate the cause of the accident and provide the report.
