Chandigarh: A high-level meeting of the Home Department was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal. After the meeting, Home Minister Anil Vij Da said that a High Power Committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Home Secretary Rajiv Arora. Following the order of the Supreme Court, the committee will hold talks with the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha. Many senior officials including DGP, Home Secretary will be present in the committee. The High Power Committee will first talk to the representatives of the United Kisan Morcha, after which a decision will be taken to open the road.

Regarding the farmers’ agitation, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said that a state-level high power committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary Home Department. He said that DGP, ADG (Law and Order), and several other officials would also be included in the committee, Vij was talking to media after a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal here today.

Home Minister Anil Vij said the committee would hold talks with the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha on opening a road on the Delhi border. Similarly, the committee would take part in a dialogue meeting with the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha to facilitate the people coming and going to Delhi as per the directions of the Supreme Court. “The notice of the Human Rights Commission was not discussed in this meeting. We have received the notice now. It will be considered later,” he said.
