Punjab Congress State President Navjot Singh Sidhu will sit on hunger strike from today (Friday). On the other hand, a delegation of Shiromani Akali Dal has left for Uttar Pradesh. The delegation includes five leaders including Harsimrat Kaur. All the leaders will also meet CM Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow.
Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu on Thursday announced that he would go on a hunger strike if the Union Minister of State for Home’s son is not arrested over the Lakhimpur violence. While leaving for Lakhimpur from Mohali, Sidhu announced, “If the son of the Union Minister of State for Home is not arrested by tomorrow and he does not cooperate in the investigation, I will go on hunger strike tomorrow.”
Now SAD leader leaves for Lakhimpur, Harsimrat Kaur also included
After the Congress, now the leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal left for Lakhimpur to meet the families of the deceased farmers. SAD leaders under the leadership of MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal will also meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow. Where they will demand the arrest of all the accused responsible for the incident.
SAD President Sukhbir Badal said that the delegation will meet the Uttar Pradesh government and pressurize them to immediately arrest the perpetrators of this horrific act. Shiromani Akali Dal is very clear in this matter that all those responsible for this massacre should be immediately put in bars, no matter how high the rank they hold. Sukhbir informed that the five-member delegation that left for Lakhimpur Kheri included Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Balwinder Singh Bhundar, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Jagir Kaur, and Bikram Singh Majithia.
