Heavy rains have once again wreaked havoc in Mumbai. A residential building collapsed in Mumbai’s Malad West area at around 11 pm, killing nine and injuring several others. Apart from this, many people got buried under the debris, which is being pulled out.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, so far 9 people have died and 8 people have been injured due to the building collapse in Malad’s Collectorate Compound.
The BMC said that three more nearby buildings have also been evacuated as their condition is not good. The rescue operation is going on in full swing.
At the same time, DCP South Zone Vishal Thakur said that so far 15 people including women and children have been evacuated, they have been admitted to the hospital. More people are feared trapped under the debris.
