- 25 leaders including MLAs and ministers reached Delhi
- Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sukhjinder Randhawa also arrived
- Other leaders will also go on Tuesday-Wednesday
The Congress high command has planned to settle the feud of the Punjab Congress in three days. A three-member committee constituted in this regard has summoned about 25 MLAs-Ministers of Punjab to Delhi. All these will be discussed today. The meeting will run from 11 am to 5 pm. For the next two days, the committee will call 25-25 leaders and talk to them. The invitation for the leaders called on Monday was issued by the Punjab Congress office and all the summoned leaders reached New Delhi on Sunday evening.
The committee has not only invited the sitting MLAs and ministers for the meeting, but has also invited the sitting MPs and former state heads of state for talks. Among the leaders whom the committee will meet for the first round are Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Charanjit Singh Channi, Rajkumar Verka. These leaders are being seen in the advanced list of angry leaders of the party.
Navjot Sidhu was the first to question the functioning of Captain Amarinder Singh regarding the indecency and Kotkapura firing case and even called him to the disqualified Home Minister. At the same time, Cabinet Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa had given his resignation to the Chief Minister during the Cabinet meeting itself on the issue of disharmony, which was rejected by the Captain. Charanjit Singh Channi has also been involved in frequent meetings of angry legislators-ministers against whom the controversy in the Congress was deepened by the State Women’s Commission suddenly opening the two-and-a-half-year-old Mi-Two case.
Meanwhile, as the round of meeting with the committee members begins, on Sunday, MP Pratap Singh Bajwa called on all the MLAs and ministers to listen to the voice of their conscience and be brave. Former state chief Pratap Bajwa has been pointing fingers at the captain’s work for a long time. He has strong resentment with the Captain that neither the state’s addiction has ended nor the criminals of disgrace can be punished. On the other hand, MLA Pargat Singh uploaded a poster on his Facebook wall – Important issues will be discussed in special conversation, Punjabi hoon, Punjabi only. At the same time, there is also a special thing that Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has been a constant attacker against Captain Amarinder Singh through his Twitter handle, is calm since the high command constituted the committee. He has not tweeted for the past three days, targeting the captain.
Sunil Jakhar also leaves for New Delhi
According to sources, state head Sunil Jakhar also left for Delhi on Sunday. It is believed that Jakhar will discuss in detail the dispute that arose in the state Congress with a three-member committee in a meeting to be held on Monday. It has also been learned that some MLAs have gone to Delhi to take their stand in writing over the current dispute and they will get their votes written in writing before the committee. Obviously, such MLAs do not want to get involved in any kind of controversy.
These are among the leaders called today
Navjot Singh Sidhu, Brahma Mohindra, Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, Manpreet Singh Badal, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Ram Aavla, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Sundar Sham Arora, Rana Gurjeet Singh, Arun Dogra, Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Rana KP, Aruna Chaudhary, Rajkumar Verka, Rakesh Pandey and Charanjit Singh Channi, OP Soni, Trupt Rajinder Singh Bajwa.
Harish Rawat’s statement strengthened the Captain’s camp
The members of the committee had their first meeting in Rajya Sabha by Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, senior leader Jayaprakash Aggarwal and Punjab in-charge general secretary Harish Rawat. After this meeting, Harish Rawat had said to organize the party completely and enter the election. It was also indicated that according to the tradition of the party, the assembly elections of 2022 in Punjab will also be fought under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh. Capt. Camp has breathed a sigh of relief from this statement of Rawat. On the other hand, the basis of the infighting of the Punjab Congress is also that the Captain has failed to fulfill the promises made by the people. Angry leaders say that the captain’s failures are making it difficult for him to go public. Although Harish Rawat also says that while Captain Amarinder Singh is a father figure for the party, Navjot Singh Sidhu is also very important for the party.
