- In view of the security lapse of Chief Minister Manohar Lal during the budget session, the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat is in no mood to take any risk in this session. In the meeting held on Monday, several decisions were taken in view of security.
Temporary barricading will be done on seven common roads of Haryana-Punjab Vidhan Sabha during the monsoon session. In the session to be held from August 20, a six-member committee of officials of both the states and Chandigarh administration has been constituted for the security of the Chief Minister, Ministers, and MLAs. Haryana Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta held a meeting with the high officials of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh on Monday.

In the meeting held on Monday, several decisions were taken in view of security. The committee for security will include SP-level police officers of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, security chiefs of both the Vidhan Sabha and nodal officers of Chandigarh administration. A plan has also been made regarding the parking arrangement during the session.
Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that during the last budget session, during the press conference of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, some Akali MLAs of Punjab had behaved indecently in the assembly premises. He cautioned the officers that such incidents should not be repeated in the future. Detail details of security arrangements have been sought from the police officers.
Chandigarh Administration officials assured that the duty magistrate would report to the control room of the Vidhan Sabha daily during the monsoon session. A WhatsApp group will also be formed to establish coordination among the personnel deployed regarding the security arrangements. Only authorized vehicles will be able to enter the assembly premises. The entire responsibility of this will rest with the CISF Wing. For the convenience of the police personnel and other staff on duty, provision of temporary canteen and toilets will also be there in the parking area. There will be no press conference outside the assembly.
