- Currently, 288 patients suffering from black fungus are being treated in private and 74 in government hospitals in Punjab. 316 patients suffering from this disease are from Punjab while 46 patients belong to other states.
In Punjab, the situation is not improving due to black fungus in the midst of corona infection. On Friday, three more patients succumbed to a black fungus in Punjab. So far 52 people have died due to this serious disease in the state. So far 362 cases have been reported in the state, out of which 46 cases are being reported related to other states.
71 died from corona, 2009 new infected found
On Friday, 71 died due to corona infection. 4 in Amritsar, 1 in Barnala, 8 in Bathinda, 2 in Faridkot, 1 in Fazilka, 3 in Ferozepur, 4 in Gurdaspur, 1 in Hoshiarpur, 1 in Jalandhar, 2 in Kapurthala, 2 in Ludhiana, 7 in Moga, 4 in Mohali 2 patients died in Muktsar, 3 in Pathankot, 1 in Patiala, 2 in Ropar, 9 in Sangrur, 1 in SBS Nagar and 1 in Tarn Taran. 2009 new cases of infection have been reported in the state.
Jalandhar: 5 new patients of black fungus found
After Corona, now the victims of black fungus are continuously coming out. The process of death due to black fungus also continues. For the last four days, one patient every day is dying. On Friday, five new patients of black fungus appeared. These include two patients from Jalandhar, one each from Ludhiana, Jammu, and Kapurthala.
All are corona infected and are admitted to hospitals in Jalandhar. Apart from this, on Thursday also a patient of Nawanshahr died in Jalandhar hospital. According to health officials, a 60-year-old man from Nawanshahr has lost his life. The elderly also had corona and diabetes.
The black fungus kills two in Fatehgarh Sahib
In Fatehgarh Sahib district, four people have come under the grip of black fungus, while a woman from Mandi Gobindgarh and a man from Amloh have died. Civil Surgeon Dr. Mahinder Singh said that four people have come under the grip of black fungus in the district, out of which two have died and two patients are still undergoing treatment.
Civil Surgeon said that a 54-year-old woman resident of Mandi Gobindgarh died during treatment at DMC Ludhiana and a 52-year-old man from Amloh died during treatment at PGI Chandigarh. It was also informed that two persons are still undergoing treatment, in which a 55-year-old man from Sub Division Khaman, Mohali, and a 55-year-old man is under treatment at PGI Chandigarh.
