Earlier people had taken shelter in Gurdwara Mansa Sahib in Kabul city, now they have left it and reached Gurdwara Karte Parwana Sahib. About two hundred people are sitting here taking shelter, who are waiting to leave from there.
After the Taliban’s capture, the Afghan army has disappeared from outside religious places from there. In such a situation, Taliban fighters are coming to the temple and Gurudwara and interrogating them. Shammi Singh, a resident of Cantonment Mohalla of Ludhiana, left Afghanistan in the year 2012 and came here. He told that on Sunday he had spoken to his friends Joginder Singh and Meher Singh.
He told me that he had taken refuge in Gurdwara Mansa Sahib for the last 10 days. But now he has moved to Gurdwara Karte Parwana Sahib. About two hundred people have taken shelter in this Gurdwara Sahib. On Sunday, he spoke on the phone with his friends but now there is no contact.
Afghan soldiers were earlier stationed outside Gurdwara Sahib, they have left as soon as the Taliban is captured. He is so scared that anything can happen at any time. He can’t even get out of here because of fear.
Shammi Singh says that many Sikh and Hindu people work as spices and grocers in Sure Bazar. Hindus and Sikhs were already being persecuted there and now it will be difficult for them to live there. In the year 2012, around 40 families had settled in Ludhiana from Sure itself. At that time there was an American army but the atrocities were too much.
